15 LGUs finish SAP payout, 100% distribution targeted by Apr. 30

BAGUIO CITY, Apr. 28 (PIA) – – The Department of Social Welfare and Development  bared that  payout for Social Amelioration Program (SAP) is ongoing  in  most local government units in the region  with  15 already  completing  distribution as of Sunday(April 26). 

DSWD – Cordillera downloaded a total of P1, 304,341,500 SAP cash subsidy to the 77 LGUs (75 municipalities and two cities) in the region. As per the April 26 monitoring report of DSWD – CAR, SAP distribution already reached 136,674 families or 57.63 percent of the 237,153 target family beneficiaries in the region and with a total disbursement of P750,779,500.

Of the 77 LGUs, 15 already accomplished 100 percent payout in their municipalities. These   are Danglas, Lagangilang, Langiden and Sal-lapadan in Abra; Asipulo, Hingyon, Hungduan and Kiangan in Ifugao; Natonin, Sabangan and Sagada in Mountain Province; Lubuagan and Pasil in Kalinga, and Flora and Sta Marcela in Apayao.

DSWD – CAR Regional Director Leo Quintilla   enjoined the LGUs in the region to do their best to complete the SAP payout for April before the end of the month.

Quintilla informed that with the President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, upon the recommendation of the Inter – Agency Task Force COVID – 19,   announcing that the Enhanced Community Quarantine will be extended up to May 15 in some areas while others will be downloaded to General Community Quarantine (GCQ),   they are preparing for any change in the distribution of SAP cash assistance in its second month of implementation in May.

Benguet including Baguio City will have an extended ECQ but confirmation is expected to come out by April 30. The rest of the provinces in the region will be downgraded to GCQ.  

Aside from the SAP distribution, Quintilla also affirmed that DSWD – CAR will continue to support the relief operations of the LGUs for the COVID – 19 affected families in the region.

As per their monitoring, there are 379,091 affected families in the region and so far DSWD already provided around P1.01 billion in assistance while LGUs provided P124.28 M in assistance and other NGOs and private donors also provided around P4.6 million.

For family food packs, DSWD – CAR already provided 29,310 FFPs worth around P12.79M as augmentation to LGU relief operations. DSWD-CAR has a current stockpile of 26,678 FFPs that are ready for augmentation to LGUs that will need assistance. (JDP/CCD-PIA CAR)
