April 15, 2020 Uncategorized

ZAMBOANGA CITY, April 14 (PIA) – Department of Labor and Employment 9 (DOLE 9) released cash assistance to formal sector workers affected by the “No work, No pay” and Flexible Work Arrangement during Enhanced Community Quarantine in Zamboanga Peninsula.

More than Php10-million was released by DOLE 9 representing financial support of PHP5,000 per worker under the DOLE COVID-19 Adjustment Measure Program (CAMP) to 2,165 workers across the Region as of April 13, 2020. DOLE also releases financial assistance to informal sector workers through “Barangay &o, Bahay Ko” or BKBK program.

Furthermore, DOLE 9 Chief Labor and Employment Officer Engr. Wesley Tan also highlighted the strategy of the region to avoid personal contact to clients where the region uses online portal for the submission of the employer’s requirements on CAMP. “As far as we know, among the other regions in the country only Region 9 is using online portal for the clients,” Tan added.

Engr. Tan clarified that the disbursement of more than Php10-million downloaded to the region were processed immediately by their task force on CAMP.

“The validation of the applications is handled immediately, however the region is still waiting for the additional funds to be downloaded in order to release the financial assistance,” Engr. Tan said.

All applications submitted via their online portal pass through verification and validation by their officers before the approval. Once the application is approved, the employer will be informed through a text message. However, if the application is disapproved, the employer will also be informed to comply with the specific requirements needed.

DOLE 9 announces that all applications for CAMP is solely done online through their portal: www.dole9portal.com.camp. They are also appealing to the employers to submit the complete requirements for faster processing of applications and workers should await the text message once the assistance were released through remittance centers. If you have further questions you may contact them through their hotline numbers: 0917-724-4334, 0956-185-8268, 0953-149-9968, (062) 991-2673. (RVC/MLE/PIA9-Zamboanga City)
