5-year-old female in NVizcaya, cleared of COVID-19

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, April 3 (PIA) – Governor Carlos Padilla has announced that the 5-year-old child from Alfonso Castañeda town who was earlier found to have been infected with COVID-19 was already cleared of virus infection based on the second laboratory result.
“We are happy that the case of the 5-year-old female child has improved because we are still surprised why she was infected. The family is a resident of a remote barangay off Galintuja in Alfonso Castañeda town,” he said during the radio program “Laging Handa Network Briefing” on Radyo Pilipinas by Secretary Martin Andanar.
Padilla said that as of today, there are 8 Persons Under Investigation (PUIs) waiting for the result of their laboratory test from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM).
The governor also said that since March to present, there are already 72 PUIs but 59 were already discharged .
“Out of the 4 confirmed COVID-19 cases, one died who was recorded as the first COVID-19 fatality in Cagayan Valley region. DOH protocols have been observed during his burial,” Padilla said.(MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
