Aklan extends ECQ until April 30
KALIBO, Aklan, April 11 (PIA) – The Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the entire province of Aklan has been extended until April 30, 2020 as part of the intensified efforts of the local government here to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Aklan Governor Florencio Miraflores issued Executive Order No. 21 Series of 2020, April 10, which extends the travel restrictions of persons under EO No. 019, series of 2020 and the Enhanced Community Quarantine in the entire Province of Aklan under EO No 020, series of 2020 until April 30 at 11:59 in the evening
Miraflores noted that the extension of quarantine from April 14 to April 30 was based on the recommendation of the Aklan Inter-Agency Task Force.
A teleconference, attended by the 17 town mayors of the province, Aklan Medical Society, Association of Municipal Health Officers of the Philippines-Aklan Chapter (AMHOP Aklan), Provincial Health Office and the COVID-19 Task force of the Province, was conducted on April 9 for the said purpose.
The order said that all of the provisions of EO 19 and 20 which were issued on March 15 and March 22, respectively, would remain in force and in effect until April 30.
In a media interview, Miraflores appealed for the understanding and cooperation of the public as this move is for the safety of everybody.
Meanwhile, as of April 9, Aklan has six positive cases of COVID -19; five of whom are admitted at Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital and one is under strict home quarantine. (LTP/SQP/PIA Aklan)
