Army trains troops to provide assistance during health emergency

PASIG CITY, April 11 (PIA) – Personnel from the Philippine Army recently finished the Basic Medical Aidman training at the Philippine Army’sHeadquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. 

“The Philippine Army continuously capacitates its troops through regular trainings to prepare them in any eventualities in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Colonel Krishnamurti A. Mortela, Assistant Chief of Staff for Education and Training.

According to the Philippine Army, the 60 soldiers which are currently assigned at the 2nd Rifle Company, Task Force COVID-19 at Fort Bonifacio were trained to assist the medical practitioners from the Army General Hospital should the COVID-19 outbreak escalate.

Military doctors and nurses from the Office of the Army Chief Surgeon and Office of the Army Chief Nurse led the five-day medical training to the army troops. (PA/PIA-NCR)
