Bacolod implements limitations on HQP use

April 16, 2020 Uncategorized

BACOLOD CITY, April 16 (PIA6) – – As a stricter measure to keep and regulate movement of approximately 150,000 people who were issued with Home Quarantine Pass (HQP) in Bacolod City, the local government implements the “number coding scheme” on the use of such pass which started April 15 until April 30.

Bacolod City mayor Evelio Leonardia issued on April 13 Executive Order No. 30 prescribing the limitations on the mandatory use of HQP through an odd-even coding scheme.

Those whose HQP ends in odd numbers are only allowed to go out of their houses on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays while those HQP ends in even numbers are only allowed to go out on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, but still in adherence to the curfew set earlier.

On Sunday, everyone is required to strictly observe home quarantine and must not go out of their houses, except those rendering essential services.

With the number coding scheme, supermarkets, groceries and public markets shall require all customers to present their valid HQP’s when they enter, otherwise, those without valid HQP will not be allowed to enter said establishments.

Reiterated in the EO is the exemption of frontliners, essential government workers and those from the private sector who are providing essential services, provided they present their identification cards.

The Bacolod City Office, its augmentation force, together with the Philippine Army, shall ensure strict implementation of the EO and any misuse or abuse of the HQP has corresponding penalty. *(LTP/EAD-PIA6 Negros Occidental)
