‘Bayanihan Sa Cauayan’ launched to help city’s displaced workers
CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, March 28 (PIA) – The Cauayan City COVID–19 Task Force has launched a fundraising drive aimed at helping residents who were severely affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine.
The fundraising drive dubbed as ‘Bayanihan Sa Cauayan’ encourages residents in the city who are well-off to donate in cash or in-kind to the task force. Proceeds will be given to displaced Cauayeño workers while their work and small businesses are on halt.
Cauayan City Mayor Bernard Faustino Dy said the City Food Bank will be accepting the donations that will be given to the affected individuals especially tricycle drivers, ambulant vendors, constuction workers, among others.
“With so many of you who pledged to donate, the Cauayan City Food Bank is now accepting donations for relief assistance to affected Cauayeño families due to COVID–19,” Dy said.
The donations that will be raised according to Dy will be in addition to the assistance to be given by the barangay officials and the LGU.
