Cagayan Valley records no COVID-19 positive case on Black Saturday

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, April 12 (PIA) – – The Department of Health (DOH) region 2 has no recorded positive case during the observance of the Black Saturday, yesterday.

As per latest report, the positive cases remain 26 in which Cagayan province has the highest number of 14, Isabela with seven, Nueva Vizcaya with five while Batanes and Quirino provinces remain COVID-19-free.

Of the 26 cumulative cases, 20 already tested negative for COVID-19 based on the results of their swaab retests.

Llexter Guzman, information officer, also reported that as of press time there were 535 total number of persons-under-investigation in which 203 were already discharged, 283 on strict home quarantine, 36 are currently admitted, six mortalities but were tested negative of COVID-19, and seven discharged but on home quarantine.

As to patients with Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) or those without travel history from infected areas and without exposure to postive cases, there were 107 listed with 54 admitted in hospitals, 29 were already discharged, 12 on home quarantine & 12 mortalities.

“Of these SARI cases, 56 were already tested negative, two were confirmed cases of COVID-19 while others are awaiting laboratory results, ” Guzman said.

As to the number of persons-under-monitoring, the total number have already scaled down to 3,815 in which 25 were from countries with local transmission and 3,815 from local areas with postive cases as majority of the enlisted PUMs have already finished their 14-day quarantine without any signs and symptoms.
