Coast Guard welcomes 21 new frontline health workers

PASIG CITY, August 1 (PIA) – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) welcomed 21 new frontline health workers in the service. 

PCG led on Thursday the oath-taking ceremony of 21 probationary ensigns composed of 19 medical technologists, one psychometrician, and one physician at the PCG National Headquarters in Manila.

Gracing the ceremony were Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, PCG Commandant Vice Admiral George Ursabia Jr, and Commander of the Coast Guard Human Resource Management Command Rear Admiral Joseph Coyme, together with other PCG key officials.

According to PCG, the newly-commissioned officers will augment coast guard’s medical service in upholding the health and safety of PCG frontline personnel.  

PCG added the newly-commissioned officers will also augment PCG’s operations in serving returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs), locally stranded individuals (LSI), fellow frontline workers, and maritime stakeholders.
