In a virtual press conference held by the  Regional Task Force for COVID-19, Prosecutor Uy said they are always mindful about their function to investigate cases that are being prepared to be filed in courts.

“Anytime when needed, the prosecutors will attend inquest proceeding and other related court procedures,” she added.

Prevalent in the present situation are cases against illegal drugs, illegal gambling, hoarding essential goods and profiteering, Uy disclosed.

Uy admitted that presently, DOJ is being confronted with the issues on handling or disposal of the items confiscated due to hoarding and/or profiteering.
