April 9, 2020 Uncategorized

ILIGAN CITY, Apr. 9 (PIA) – The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation of Iligan, Incorporated (CCIFII), in partnership with the city government of Iligan and national line agencies, deployed 10 rolling stores to strategic parts of the city to bring dry goods, fresh and frozen products to consumers affected by the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Reggie Punongbayan, Iligan Chamber of Commerce President, assures consumers that the prices of products carried inside their rolling stores are sold according to the suggested retail prices provided by the Department of Trade and Industry and the Department of Agriculture. (PIA ICIC)

These mobile stores were set to decongest the number of consumers in the city’s public markets and to provide consumers easy access to basic needs by bringing them right at their doorsteps.

As far as supplies are concerned, local farmers and entrepreneurs tied deals with the consolidators to make sure that these rolling stores will also boost up the local economy despite the ECQ.

CCIFII President, Reggie Punongbayan, assures consumers that all prices of products carried inside the rolling stores are sold according to the suggested retail prices (SRP) provided by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Agriculture (DA).

“We’re not here to think about our profit anymore, we’re here to exercise our corporate social responsibilities as business owners for the convenience of our consumers in this trying times,” she said.

Punongbayan also emphasized that precautionary health measures are to be observed where these mobile stores will park and sell. Visibility of barangay security personnel and police officers will help in keeping the activity organized at all times.

“Our goal is to limit the transmission of COVID-19 sa mga market. So, dapat naa gihapon ang social distancing, kinahanglan pod mag mask ta kung mamalit ta og i-andam pod nato atung mga eco-bags,” she elaborated.
