Iloilo province records 2 COVID-19 recoveries

ILOILO CITY, April 14 (PIA6) — Two patients from Iloilo province have fully recovered from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

According to the COVID-19 Case Bulletin No. 18 issued by the Department of Health Western Visayas Center for Health Development, these two cases from Iloilo province are part of the seven recoveries recorded in Region 6.

The first case of recovery is the 65-year old male from Guimbal, Iloilo, which is also the first confirmed COVID-19 case in Panay.

In a statement from The Medical City, the patient has completely recovered and has been discharged after his repeat COVID-19 test has shown negative result.

The second patient who recovered from the disease is the 22-year female patient from Miag-ao, Iloilo.

According to Miagao mayor Dr. Macario Napulan, the patient already went home last Saturday.

Napulan said the patient was considered fully recovered after yielding negative results for her second and third swab tests.

The local chief executive also advised the patient to undergo another 14-day self-quarantine in her home.

Meanwhile, no new confirmed positive case of COVID-19 was recorded in Western Visayas as of April 12, 2020.

As of April 12, Iloilo province has recorded 15 confirmed COVID-19 cases; one is still admitted, eight are under home quarantine, two have recovered; and four have died. (JBG/LTP/PIA-Iloilo)
