Iloilo province records 6 new recoveries from COVID-19

ILOILO CITY, April 27 (PIA6) — Six additional patients from Iloilo province have recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

As per the COVID-19 Bulletin No. 30 of the Department of Health Western Visayas Center of Health Development, the six patients are among the 10 new cases of recovery from Western Visayas.

According to Dr. Renilyn Reyes, DOH-6 Public Health Development Program Head, four of the new recovered patients in Iloilo province come from Lambunao town while the other two are from the municipality of Pavia.

The recoveries from Lambunao, Iloilo include a 39-year-old female, a 41-year-old male, a 70-year-old female, and 48-year-old female. Meanwhile the recovered patients from Pavia are the 50-year-old male and a 52-year-old female.

Reyes said the recovered patients tested negative in their repeat test of RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction).

“Also, the patients were given resolution of signs and symptoms,” she said, adding that the resolution is granted to a patient if he or she does not manifest fever for three days and records improvement in both respiratory symptoms and chest X-rays.

Meanwhile, as per DOH6 COVID-19 Case Bulletin No. 31, issued on April 26, 2020, one new confirmed case of COVID-19 was recorded in Iloilo province.

The patient is a 31-year old male from Zarraga, Iloilo and is currently under facility quarantine. (LTP/PIA-Iloilo)
