Jalajala patients recover, town COVID-free with Pililla & Tanay

ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, May 4 (PIA)– The Municipality of Jalajala joins Pililla and Tanay as Rizal Province’s COVID-free towns after its two remaining patients recover.
 
Jalajala’s Patient 2,a resident of Brgy. Bagumbong, was declared recovered on April 17.
 
Patient 2, who was quarantined outside the town, was announced to have tested positive on March 30 and was tested again 14 days resulting to a negative. Another test was administered 48 hours later which also came out negative.
 
Jalajala then reported a suspected case on April 17, an individual above 60 with mild symptoms.
 
Said patient was on self-quarantine and was being monitored for further medical management. The suspected patient’ RTPCR results then tested negative as of April 24.
 
Prior to the recovery of the two however, Patient 1, Jalajala Vice Mayor Jose “Jolet” Delos Santos, expired on March 31.
 
The vice mayor tested positive on March 25 but his second test was not confirmed before his passing.
 
The Jalajala PIO states that it is safe to say that Jalajala is COVID-free is doing its best to implement stricter measures in order for it to stay that way.
 
In Tanay, the town’s lone patient also recently recovered and has been recovering in a hospital outside the town as of April 29.
 
Meanwhile, the Municipality of Pililla’s May 1 update states that the town remains COVID-free with no probable cases.
 
While the town has 11 suspects as of its latest report, 6 of them have completed the quarantine period and 2 are undergoing home quarantine. (PIA-Rizal with reports from Jalajala PIO, Municipality of Tanay, Better Pililla/Municipality of Pililla)
