April 20, 2020 Uncategorized

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, Apr. 20(PIA) – –   The Kabayan local government issued additional guidelines for the farmer and driver sectors with  Extreme Enhanced Community Quarantine imposed in the area to ensure  the safety of the people from the corona virus.

Mayor Faustino Aquisan  after a meeting with COVID Task Force  and the concerned sector issued Executive Order 44 – 2020 tagged as “Gentlemen’s Agreement” which spells out the additional guidelines particularly for farmers and drivers who are going outside the municipality.

Quarantine and travel passes will be issued by the barangay for individuals going to other barangays for essential and emergency purposes. Passes are for one time use only and must be duly signed by authorized barangay representative. A “no pass, no entry” policy shall be strictly followed.

In adherence to the schedule of delivery of vegetable cargo at the government-run trading areas in La Trinidad, the delivery of vegetable cargo will be timed such that it can reach the Monday-Wednesday and Friday schedule of unloading at the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post (LTVTP) and Benguet Agri-Pinoy Trading Center (BAPTC).

Protocols at the quarantine control points such as presentation of travel pass and health declaration form are still required.

A “Kabayan pass” dedicated for authorized vegetable cargo vehicles going to the   LTVTP and BAPTC issued by the barangay local government is required. This includes a Kabayan pass sticker that would also identify them as iKabayans while in transit.

The LGU discourages travel to COVID-affected areas   such as Nueva Vizcaya and Baguio City. But   since the Nueva Vizcaya Agri-Trading is a market outlet of Kabayan produce such as cabbage, cauliflower, carrots, and tomatoes, those allowed to travel must abide by the protocols set by their respective farmers/operators/drivers association and submit to all guidelines and safety measures.

The local government continuously issues guidelines to maintain a healthy and safe locality and prevent the transmission of the deadly virus to its populace. (JDP/SCA-PIA CAR, Benguet)
