Lilian Santos of the KMS said the project also aims to raise funds for the production of the initial 1,000 pieces of washable facemask for distribution to communities here.

“It’s high time that we educate our people, especially those in the grassroots that viral infections are preventable if we know the basic health habits like maintaining proper hygiene, keeping our body healthy and wearing protective gears,” Santos explained.
Through this, people would see that protection should be part of daily life not only at this time of the pandemic, she said, adding that this could be infused into the culture.
Explaining about the cost, she said people can resort to affordable but effective materials like
Santos appealed to generous individuals or groups to support the project of keeping the community healthy through facemask distribution. (JDP/LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
