Lanao del Sur Quarantine Center ready for operations

April 16, 2020 Uncategorized

MARAWI CITY, Apr. 15 (PIA) — Twenty (20) of the 46 housing units of the Lanao del Sur Community Quarantine Facility is now ready to accommodate patients with mild symptoms of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The units are equipped with water, electricity, furniture, and equipment to make them compliant with health regulations for rehabilitative quarantine.

Provincial Governor Mamintal Alonto Adiong, Jr. said 99 housing units were constructed in Brgy. Emie Punud for the use of its office personnel but 46 units were converted into a temporary community quarantine facility in response to the threat brought about by COVID-19.

The facility is also surrounded by fences and has an installed sanitation tent at the entrance.

The facility will be manned by the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) together with the Marawi City Health Office (CHO) and the Amai Pakpak Medical Center (APMC).

Adiong said the community quarantine facility is intended for patients with mild symptoms. Those with severe symptoms and tested positive will be catered by the APMC.

Currently, all patients with suspected symptoms of the virus were brought to the APMC, which has only 18 isolation rooms.

Meanwhile, Adiong reminded Lanao del Sur residents to follow the enhanced community quarantine guidelines set by both the national and local governments.

“Stay at home. Don’t go out unless necessary. When you are outside your home, wear a mask and always wash your hands with soap and water or with alcohol,” he reiterated.

He also asked them to tell the truth if they are feeling unwell saying they are also putting others at risk by not being honest.

“Most importantly, pray to Allah for this COVID-19 pandemic to disappear not only in the province but in the entire world,” Adiong added. (APB/PIA ICIC)
