BAY, Laguna, May 1 (PIA) – People of Silangan and Kanlurang Pakil may now access again the Free Boat Ride service of the Local Government of Pakil.

Pakil Mayor Vincent Soriano announced in his official facebook that the free boat ride offered to residents of Pakil resumed on Monday, April 27, 2020.

“Ibabalik na po natin ang ating Free Boat Ride Service sa pagitan ng Barangay Banilan ng Kanlurang Pakil at Estaca ng Poblacion,” the Local Chief Executive pronounced.

(We will bring back our Free Boat Ride Service between Brgy. Banilan of Kanlurang Pakil and Estaca of Silangang Pakil also known as Poblacion.)

He said that all of the family members of the first COVID-19 patient in the town who are residing near the port have already tested negative of the virus.

Nine boats are available to transport Pakileños back and forth everyday from 6AM to 12 noon.

While, only three (3) passengers are allowed to ride each boat and they are required to wear lifevest for safety purposes.

This is beneficial for the convenience of the residents of Silangang Pakil and Kanlurang Pakil as it gives access to the establishments not available in their places.

The program also provides job to the Pakileño boatmen and boat owners hired by the local government for said program. (Joy Gabrido
