March 14, 2021 Uncategorized

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, April 17 (PIA) – At least eight Indigenous People (IP) families from the coastal town of Maconancon have benefitted from the outreach program of the town’s police station held on April 14, 2020.

The activity is led by Maconacon Police chief Capt. Domer T. Pelo accompanied by Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) Aplaya.

Pelo said the outreach program of the station is an effort of police personnel of Maconacon to help the Agay tribe affected by Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) due to COVID–19.

The town of Maconacon is one of the four coastal towns of Isabela that can be reached through air and sea transportations.

“We intend to initiate an outreach program for Indigenous Peoples in the two villages of Maconancon knowing the need for help during the COVID–19 pandemic crisis,” Pelo said.

The Maconacon police has distributed new and used clothing to young and adults IPs and relief foods while 25 IP children received food stuffs including new and used clothing, 12 children received slippers and 10 children received writing and drawing supplies.

Pelo said the IP recipients expressed thanks to the police for the outreach program they conducted and for extending help for them in this time of crisis. (MDCT/MGE/PIA 2-Isabela)
