Mayor Sara assures City’s readiness in handling PUIs
DAVAO CITY March 27, 2020 (PIA) – Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio assured the readiness of the city to cater to patients under investigation (PUI) due to transmission of the Corona Virus Infectious Disease (COVID)-19.
In an interview with the Davao City Disaster Radio, she said that the city has PUI centers namely: the Malagos Drug Rehabilitation Center in Calinan, La Vida Inn at Ma-a Road, Alternative Learning School at Pelayo Street and the Queensland at Ecoland Drive.
Duterte-Carpio said she inspected these facilities to ensure that their respective operations will be done smoothly.
“I conferred with Dr. Matalam in Malagos to know their issues and concerns in order to resolve them and ensure their smooth operation,” she said.
Duterte-Carpio said checklists were provided by the Department of Heatlh in order that these facilities can hold the patients and set these facilities up according to doctors’ specification.
She said the ALS still needs bed sheets and pillow cases, and the machine for the water pressure.
“Seemingly the building is already ready with 50 plus rooms available,” Duterte-Carpio said.
Duterte-Carpio said the PUI center at La Vida Inn is also ready to accommodate patients while internet and intercom need to be provided as required by the DOH.
She said the Malagos Drug Rehabilitation Center currently has 28 PUIs referred to by the SPMC.
Duterte-Carpio also visited the checkpoints in Barangays Buda and Lacson.
She mulled of visiting also the checkpoints in Lasang and Sirawan over the weekend.
