Naguilian, Isabela records 1st COVID-19 positive case

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, June 25 (PIA) – – The Department of Health (DOH) region 2 has confirmed one new Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) positive case yesterday.

Dr. Leticia Cabrera, chief of the Local Health Support Division, said Patient 57 is a 42-year-old male OFW from Naguilian, Isabela.

She said the patient arrived in the country last June 11 and arrived in his hometown last June 15.

“We learned that he has an exposure to Patient 45 who is also his co-repatriate from abroad. They boarded same vehicle of OWWA which fetched them from Manila to region 2,” Cabrera said. Patient 45 is a 24-year-old male from Santiago City.

At this point, Patient 57 is asymptomatic and is admitted at the Southern Isabela Medical Center.

Cabrera also said officials are now conducting massive contact tracing to those who have possible close contacts with the newly recorded patient for immediate intervention and appropriate action.

She also appealed to the those who have possible close contact with patient 57 to cooperate with the officials who are conducting the contact tracing. (MDCT/OTB/PIA 2-Cagayan)
