Nueva Vizcaya aids 146 returning OFWs
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, June 24(PIA) – The provincial government here has already assisted 146 Overseas Foreign Workers (OFWs) since the start of the program for returning OFWs.
Marichelle Costales, head of the taks unit on Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs)/ OFWs said the ROFs/OFWs were already absorbed by their respective LGUs representing the 15 municipalities of the province.
The ROFs/OFWs were assisted through the PLGU’s Covention Center services managed by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Managemetnt Office (PDRRMO).
Costales also added that 12 OFWs from Ifugao province were also assisted and recorded under the Program to Assist ROFs/OFWs in partnership with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
She also recommended the mandatory rapid testing of ROFs/OFWs as preventive measure to stop the spread of COVID-19 in their respective communities.
“ROFs shall be on strict facility-basedquarantine whether in the municipal or barangay isolation facility where they reside for 14 days. If symptoms are observed during the priod, they must be subjected to RT-PCR test immediately,” Costales said.
She further said that rapid test subjects who showed positive results must also be subjected to RT-PCR testing right away.(MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
