PCOO radio programs enlighten public on SAP

PALO, Leyte, April 3 (PIA) – The Social Amelioration Program (SAP) under the “Bayanihan to Heal as One” Act, will be implemented in Eastern Visayas and in all the regions of the country.

This is the clarification provided by Regional Diector Marie Angela Gopalan of the Department of Social Welfare and Developmenr 8 (DSWD-8) amid questions and with several LGEs informing their constituents that their LGUs are not included.

“Opo, lahat ng LGUs covered. The thinking here is to arrest or slow down the spread of  COVID. So we encourage and assist needy citizens to  comply with the government’s call for them to stay at home, “ Director Gopslan said through a message sent to PIA Dir. Olive Tiu.

To recall, the SAP has been the topic at PCOO Laging Handa Public Briefing hosted by no less than PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar.

The SAP was also the topic of the Suruswerte Ha PIA radio program on Thursday over DYVL Action Radyo with Olive Tiu as host and with Joshua  Kempis of DSWD-8 as guest.

Kempis said that in Eastern Visayas, the city and mnicipal social workers are currently being briefed and oriented regarding SAP, what it is all about, who are qualified and the process of implementation.

It is good to note that these PCOO information platforms with no less than Secretary Andanar leading, are stirring the interest of and satisfying the thirst for information of the public, Dir. Tiu said. (opt/PIA8)
