PCSO donates P1 M to Northern Samar

CATARMAN, Northern Samar, April 21 (PIA) – The Philippine Charity Sweepstake Office donated P 1 Million financial assistance to the Provincial Government of Northern Samar through Gov. Edwin Marino Ongchuan at the Governor’s Office, Capitol Building, Catarman on April 20, 2020.

PCSO Catarman Branch Head Lester Trongcoso said that the assistance will be utilized for the procurement of testing kits, medical/diagnostic equipment, personal protective equipment, and medicines to be used for the management of COVID-19 cases.

Further he said, the cost will also cover the laboratory and diagnostic procedures and confinement of COVID-19 patients except room charges and professional fees.

On the other hand, Governor Edwin Ongchuan expressed his appreciation to PCSO for reaching out and helping the province in this time of health emergency.

“The financial assistance worth P 1 Milllion will go a long way in our fight against COVID-19,” the governor said.

With the limited resources of the provincial government, the amount is certainly of great support to our COVID-19 response efforts, primarily for the purchase of medicines for the management of COVID cases, PPEs, medical equipment, diagnostic procedures, among others, he added.
