ILIGAN CITY, Apr. 17 (PIA) — A total of 31 indigent families here benefited from the Adopt-A-Family of the Iligan City Police Office (ICPO).
The family of Arniel Relampagus, a sikad driver who lives in Purok 5A, Pindugangan, Barangay Tipanoy received grocery items, 15 kilograms of rice, and cash assistance under the program.
The same assistance was also received by the family of Edilito Helia, a plumber living in the same barangay.

Police Major Cheryll Balderama, officer-in-charge of the ICPO Community Affairs Unit, said the program is the contribution of the ICPO to ease the plight of poor families greatly affected by the implementation of enhanced community quarantine, a move to curb the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Adopt-A-Family aims to give immediate assistance to poor and vulnerable sectors of the city to help them sustain their daily needs in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Balderama said they identify poor families that should be given immediate assistance then they raise funds among themselves to provide for the basic needs of the families.
“We the bring the relief assistance right to their doorsteps,” she further said. (APB/PIA ICIC)
