Presidential yacht ‘Ang Pangulo’ ready to accept COVID-19 patients
PASIG CITY, April 13 (PIA)–The presidential yacht, BRP Ang Pangulo (ACS-25), which has been transformed into a floating quarantine facility is now ready to accept COVID-19 patients.
According to the Philippine Navy, the yacht has been remodeled upon the directive of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to utilize the ship for those affected by the coronavirus disease.
The three exclusive compartments which are COVID-19 dedicated medical ward and patient rooms can accommodate 28 patients and will be manned by five medical personnel.
The Navy added that the crew will remain onboard while the ship is being utilized as a quarantine facility. PPEs were provided for the crew and rapid antibody tests were also conducted.
Likewise, patients and medical staff are given different access rooms and all entry points from the Navy troops billeting area and other compartments of the ship have been sealed off. (PN/PIA-NCR)
