Tagum City LGU regulates access to city public market
DAVAO DEL NORTE, (PIA) – Access to the Tagum City Public Market has been limited and is now scheduled per barangay starting today (March 27).
The “no mask, no entry” policy is strictly implemented in the market and those with high temperatures (37.6 degrees Celsius and above) will not be allowed to enter.
To tighten policies on preventing spread of COVID-19 infection, the City Government of Tagum sets new rules to Public Market access in line with Tagum City Mayor Allan Rellon’s E.O. 2020-37 providing supplementary guidelines in implementing the “Strict Community Quarantine”.
The City Information Office has released advisory brushing aside circulated information on alleged “closure” of the Tagum City Public Market.
The market will open from 5:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.; however, buyers from each barangay are given a time-schedule when they can buy during the day. The “no mask, no entry” policy is strictly implemented in the market and those with high temperatures (37.6 degrees Celsius and above) will not be allowed to enter. Senior citizens, children, and pregnant women will not be allowed to buy.
The following are the schedule of each barangay’s entry to the Public Market: Buyers from Mankilam, Magugpo West, Magugpo Poblacion, Magdum, La Filipina, and Magugpo South will be able to enter the market at 5am to 9am.
Buyers from Apokon, Canocotan, Cuambogan, Magugpo North, Magugpo East, and San Miguel can enter at 9am to 12nn.
While those from Pandapan, Liboganon, Nueva Fuerza, New Balamban, San Agustin, San Isidro, Madaum, Pagsabangan, Visayan Village, Busaon, Bincungan will be able to enter at 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Buyers will soon be given a market pass by their Purok Leaders which they will present to enter the public market. CIO, however, made it clear that the pass shall only be required once these shall have been distributed to purok levels. (Jan Vincent Leuterio, UM Tagum OJT/PIA Davao del Norte/jmda)
