Work in PLGU frontline services resumes May 4; observance of preventive measures stressed

BONTOC, Mountain Province, May 3(PIA) – With the province now under General Community Quarantine (GCQ), work for frontline services at the provincial local government unit (PLGU) will resume on Monday May 4.   

In its advisory, the PLGU identified these frontline services namely the Provincial Health Office to include all the district hospitals, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, the provincial engineering, veterinary and agriculture offices, the Governor’s Office and the Provincial Security Service Office.

 Offices under the support/other services sector of the PLGU shall maintain a skeletal work force to be determined by their respective department heads.  

PLGU employees who are 60 years old and above are not required to report for work. They can adopt work from home scheme during the duration of the GCQ.

Employees coming from areas with identified COVID-19 transmission are required to undergo the mandatory 14 day quarantine.

The PLGU stressed that under GCQ, movement of all persons is still   limited to accessing essential goods and services and for work in the offices or industries permitted to operate. 

Meanwhile, the PLGU reiterates to the public to always observe preventive measures such as social distancing, use of facemasks while outside the residence, proper cough etiquette and frequent hand washing.

“It is imperative that all of us should safeguard ourselves from the contagion as ultimately, it is our families/ loved ones that we protect by the measures we take. As we resume our daily labor, therefore, never let your guard down; for in any battle, it is when the level of vigilance is reduced that the enemy is able to gain a foothold,” Gov. Bonifacio C.
