4Ps beneficiaries in Isabela City express gratitude on SAP
ISABELA CITY, Basilan, Apr 25 (PIA) – Members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Isabela City expressed their gratitude after they received the cash grants from the government.
Ms. Annie Czarina M. Jolo, Social Welfare Officer III of Regional Office IX assigned in Isabela City said that the 4Ps beneficiaries have already received the cash grants from the government under the Social Amelioration Program. For Region IX the 4Ps beneficiaries were entitled to P5,000 grants at this time of public health emergency due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
In Isabela City, there were 7, 466 beneficiaries under the Regular Conditional Cash Transfer Program and 791 under Modified Conditional Cash Transfer Program. The beneficiaries have already received their grants that started on the first week of April. They received a total of P3,500 on top of their 750-peso health allowance and 600 pesos rice subsidy that brought to the overall total of P5,000.
During the payout, the beneficiaries were guided by DSWD representatives to assure that social distancing is properly observed in order to avoid possible contamination and spread of virus especially COVID-19.
Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the government through the social media. Some posted their statements expressing their full appreciation to the efforts of our government in extending support to them especially at this time.
“When the Enhance Community Quarantine (ECQ) started nationwide, we were not actually financially prepared that we couldn’t even provide for alcohols or sanitizers, medicines and other products against COVID-19, as well as we don’t have stocks of foods and goods for the entire ECQ. Upon hearing about the program issued by the DSWD which is the Social Amelioration Program, it brought a big relief on our part as we are one of the poor families who were affected by the current pandemic in the country,” Jezka Tayongtong, a 4Ps beneficiary said.
She added that she was amazed by how fast the local government acts on the matter because just recently, 4Ps members are able to receive the financial assistance from DSWD.
“Due to SAP we were able to buy the necessary things needed for our health and at home. It somehow eases the burden we had felt for the past few weeks financially and emotionally. We’re truly blessed and thankful to the government for taking an action right away through creating SAP that surely help poor Filipino families who are in need due to the pandemic that the world is facing today,” Tayongtong further said.
The beneficiaries also hope that this COVID-19 pandemic will end soon so that the life of many will be back to normal especially like them who are working very hard to support the needs of their families.
Aside from the Social Amelioration Program, the beneficiaries also received assistance from the city government of Isabela and from their BLGUs. (RVC/NDR/PIA9-Basilan)
