Lanao del Sur TLDC produces COVID-19 protection suits, face masks for frontliners

MARAWI CITY, Apr, 15 (PIA) — The Technology and Livelihood Development Center (TLDC) of Lanao del Sur provincial government has produced protective suits and face masks which will be distributed to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) frontliners in the province.

As of April 14, 2020, 60 protective suits and 1,500 washable face masks have been produced. 

The sewers, some are internally displaced persons of Marawi City, were trained for dressmaking courses and were equipped with entrepreneurial skills by TLDC.

Partner-agencies have also provided them with sewing machines.

The provincial government has also rolled out its distribution of relief goods to the residents in different municipalities. To date, 115,681 families have received food packs. 

A quarantine facility, comprising 46 newly-built houses in the provincial employees’ village in Marawi City, has been prepared for COVID-19 patients with mild symptoms. 

Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal Alonto Adiong Jr. and Marawi City Mayor Majul Usman Gandamra recently signed a Joint Memorandum No. 1 series of 2020 extending the enhanced community quarantine in the province and city until April 30, 2020. (LELA/PIA ICIC)
