March 14, 2021 Uncategorized

MAASIN CITY, August 4 (PIA) — The local government unit of Maasin City welcomes another milestone as investments kept pouring in despite economic woes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the contract signing between the Maasin City LGU and the Ban Yan Ventures Inc held Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at Maasin Session Hall, a state-of-the-art commercial center will soon rise in Brgy. Tagnipa, this city.

“This is considered a milestone for Maasin City government and the people,” Maasin City Mayor Nacional Mercado said in his opening remarks at the Maasin Session Hall with members of the city council attending, among others.

Mayor Mercado is hopeful that the undertaking will spell out more jobs and livelihood opportunities which is badly needed for the returning residents affected by Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Baybay City Councillor Victor Veloso, representing the Ban Yan Ventures Inc., said the proposed Maasin Commercial Center shall house a supermarket and fast food/restaurants at its ground floor.

“It shall be connected to the second floor with an escalator where the department store and hardware station shall be accommodated,“ Veloso explained while showing the perspective view and floor plans.

Governor Damian Mercado, who witnessed in the signing of the contract, underscored his desire for Southern Leytenos who wish to work and establish business ventures at the mentioned center shall be given the utmost priority. (ldl/esg/PIA S. Leyte)
